Padma Shri Baul Samrat "Purna Chanddra Das Baul" can be seen with his brother Laxshman Das Baul on the cover of Bob Dylans album "John Westley Harding" as this was their first trip to USA in 1967. He is absolutely not a shilpi Baul as called by some fake Bauls who are competing against Purna Das Baul, they would not know anything about Baul without Nabani Das Khyapa Baul, Purna Das Baul or KD Babu Kishan. The truth will be told and exposed, indigenous fraud is a real concern.

The world traveling began in the 1950s when Purna Das Baul went to Russia. In the 1970s Krishnendu Das Baul aka Babu Kishan created the template of modern Baul traveling outside of India.

This is a very long story, however, they are the first and last of the indigenous authentic Bauls to travel the world. Random wandering self-titled Bauls followed whatever Purna Das Baul did, singing his songs, using their style, dress copying everything this one and only parampara did and who they met with.

You can call it 'replacing us by remaking us" or riding on the coattails of this singular Baul lineage. What Babu Kishan calls hawker Bauls are now self-titling themselves as 'Baul Masters' and 'Baul Artists' watering down, dumbing down and reducing Baul, of course their never have been Baul masters, or Baul Artists since the beginning of indigenous Baul. There is only Baul Guru and there are zero none today in India, just cheaters looking to collect awards, donations and a finacial jackpot telling people they are going to preserve Baul, when Baul has been preserved by KD Babu Kishan over the past 60 years. Yet, no mention of his name, new book coming which will talk about who is fake and who is real and how Baul got to this point.

1985 "Purna and his family arrived in the States this trip on September 23 to tour with world-renown sitarists Ravi Shankar and Aly Akbar Khan in an Indian music festival that'd camped in L.A., San Francisco, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, Chicago and New York. It was Allen Ginsberg who'd reminded Purna to look me up when he got to New York. The first time Purna phones me, he stands me up. That's OK. The language barrier. Finally we zero in on each other. First Babu scouts me and then they pick me up and take me to the gig."

Babukishan aka Krishnendu Das Baul, his father Purna Das Baul, and mother Manju Das Baul did many, many world tours with the best of the East and the West. They were a magic trio and super talented musicians. Purna Das Baul was the first Indian voclaist to travel worldwide outside of India.

They are all highly regarded, multi award winning. Babukishan for his musical compositions in Bengal, and the Indian Cinema, Purna Das Baul the best Baul singer ever, and Manju as a vocalist and Harmonium player.

The below are only exclusive to this one and only singular Baul Parampara or lineage, all the terms and associations, for too long Baul has been mis-appropriated by inauthentic opportunistic fake Bauls and written about with false narratives by the Colonial Academic scholarly institutions.

Baul and Ramakrishna is only associated with KD Babu Kishan as he is the only Baul to be a monk in the Ramakrishna Mission for 12 years, this is a first and last in Baul.

This is a Baul fusion style song. In the video you will see pictures of Babukishan's family home in Kolkata, the temple in Shantiniketan, Birbhum W Bengal where there is a Statue of Nabani Das Khyeppa Baul, Babu's grandfather.

The statue was commissioned by Rabindranath Tagore. There is a picture of the statue and the second picture is of Babu standing with the statue. There are photos of his Baul family temple, the alter, tulsi, and his grandparents samadhi.

There is a photo of Babu with the Tara Pith Temple peopl from 2007 , photos of Dakinashwar Temple in Kolkata, Babu was a monk for 12 years in the Ramakrishna order. There is also a rare photo of Kali Ma and Lord Shani from a temple in Bengal.

This really gives a good depiction of Baul and Bengal.

There is no Baul without Birbhum W Bengal, they are from the soil and soul of Bengal and there is no Bengal without the Bauls the two go hand in hand. This one and only lineage is indigenous to the land, they are an ancestral indigenous lineage. There is only one lineage of Baul they are called the Vaishnava Sahajiya Tantric Bauls of Birbhum W Bengal India. The Gosia Chand Das Baul and Dasi.

The only way anybody knows anything about Baul is through Nabani Das Khyapa Baul, Purna Das Baul and Babu Kishan aka Krishnendu Das Baul who pioneered Baul in every way first in Bengal, then all of India and then worldwide, globally.

Babu Kishan has preserved his one and only'Lineage Baul' because he could fore tell the change Baul was even going through back in the 1970's.

No one in this world would know who the Bauls of Bengal are without all the work of this family, this lineage and Babu Kishan. All Bauls follow this lineage, this lineage is ancient and they do not follow anybody.
