Raw the sound is not great, Babu Kishan as special guest, it was his 45th birthday. This was not a planned performance, we were traveling and stayed at the Bharatseva Ashram in Haridwar 2007.

It was my first experience in India and as you can imagine, it was out of my regular world. I was the videographer. After the Babu Kishan finished singing all the women came to me, they were thanking me? I was thinking why are you thanking me I didn't do anything. :)

There is no other lineage of Baul. The first tenant of Baul is Satya, tell the truth, it is sad that we even have to say this, however, there are fake pretendian Bauls who are collecting donations and fundraising to preserve Baul, essentially using this indigenous lineage. This has been going on for decades and it is the utmost importance that every so-called, self-titled Baul is qualified. There is Baul appreciation and Baul appropriation on steroids through social media, duping people?

There is no such thing as a Baul Master, these sort of names muddy the water, and reduce Baul. Babu Kishan aka Krishnendu Das Baul's websites have been poached since the 1990's.

"The first Dotara used by authentic Lineage Bauls in India was by "Gopal Das Baul" in the early 1940's he was the husband of Radharani Dasi Baul ( Babu's aunt who was the biggest most famous Baul women for her revolutionary firsts as a Baul women, she was a sweet magical Baulini with a voice that is a heavenly gift.)

Gopal Das Baul who was a disciple of Nabani Das Khyeppa Baul, Nabani said, Gopal of all my students you are the best, what can I do for you. Gopal said, "I want to marry your daughter, Radharani, please allow me to be in your family and take care of Radharani all her life."

Gopal Das was pure Vaishnava, a true sadhaka and a disciple who was true.

Radharani Dasi Baul was the first official Baul women to record on, "All India Radio" but she was very shy and after she recorded a few songs she never returned. Bauls are not about collecting students and building temples they are rare and very authentic innocents in this world. In the 1960's a movie called Raikamal was made about Radharani's life, written by one of Bengals top writers, "Tara Shankar."

In 1985 a movie called Togori was also made about Radharani's life, Babukishan was fully involved in this movie right down to the design of the dress that the actress playing Radharani would wear.

A very historic family Lineage of Bauls.from thousands of years back singing the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra in Bengal from the beginning of the story, way before Gaudiya Vaishnavism or the Bauls ancestor Sri Nityananda also know as Nitai.

When Nitai met his best friend at the time Sri Chaitanya his oral ancestoral way of living and singing naturally flowed into Sri Chaitanya, the stories are in the oral tradition so much of the modern cults coming out of Gaudiya have been repeating the same made up stories over and over.

Gopal Das was the son of the Ekchakra Nityananda Temple, and he was a great sweet maker. Nityananda Mahaprabu was a Baul and from this lineage."

Both now deceased, Baul is becoming extinct, and distorted, the lineage and all it's rasa is almost gone.

This lineage is the first and only Pioneering Lineage to bring Baul out of the village in Birbhum to the World.

Some others were invited to travel with them or followed them, trying to do what they have already done, then Riding on the Coat Tails of this lineage saying they are they are first, they are not, the first Women Baul to travel around the world starting in 1969 was Manju Das before internet.

Copying what Babu Kishan and his family have already done is miseducating the public because many are making astronomical claims that are not true. Yet they are singing the songs of this lineage but adding other peoples names, this is a cultural appropriation. There is a Baul History and Her-story and this story was complete decades ago.

The real Baul is extinct! Babu Kishan has ARCHIVED BAUL decades ago, it has been done, it is complete. This will be presented one by one. This is important because 'Newcomers to BAUL', are watering down, reducing and dumbing down Baul. The speculation on who the Bauls are is mind boggling. Scholars have never got it right, they only speculate or talk to the wrong people. These statements will be qualified one by one.

Babu Kishan has preserved his one and only'Lineage Baul' because he could fore tell the change Baul was even going through back in the 1970's.

No one in this world would know who the Bauls of Bengal are without all the work of this family, this lineage and Babu Kishan. All Bauls follow this lineage, this lineage is ancient and they do not follow anybody.

The new Baul singers, follow this lineage by singing their songs, by dressing as they dress, by following them around the world and by meeting their friends.

Bob Dylan, Allen Ginsberg, Rabindranath Tagore, Osho and many others were only associated with this family and this lineage.

Babu Kishan is the eldest in his generation of Vaishnava Tantric Bauls, he is Nabani Das Khyapa Bauls eldest Grandson and raised by Nabani and Brajabala from Birth til he was 8 years of age, they instilled in him that he preserve his Lineage Baul and this he completed decades ago.
