This indigenous ancestral lineage Guru Shishya Parampara Sampradya pioneered Baul throughout Bengal, all over India and (Globally since the 1950's). Baul is synergistic within Hindu thought, they are not an umbrella for other religions. This lineage does not follow others, others follow them.

Das Baul & Dasi ! The One and Only Baul Linage! The Vaishnava Bauls of Birbhum!

"Mirror of the Sky" the book Mirror of the Sky by Deben Bhattacharya. "Mirror of the Sky" is the name Rabindranath Tagore gave Sri Nabani Das Khyapa Baul.

Sri Nabani Das Baul is the first Baul to popularize Baul in the modern world, he introduced Bauls to the world this is the lineage of Das and Dasi Baul. If you see a Baul calling themselves Das Baul or Dasi or wearing the Patchwork quilt they follow this lineage even if they say they do not. Or if you see someone whose Guru wears the patch-work dress (guduri) they follow Babu Kishan because he designed it, that is the design he made for his father performances in the 1970's.

Nabani was an 'Avadhuta Tantric Baul' he was an accomplished adept, not what you see today. Nabani was born in Ekachakra Birbhum Bengal in the last 1800's and (he passed away) his Samadhi was in 1969. Bauls do not cremate they are Vaishnava and they bury their dead and for adepts they are buried in Padmasana in a yogic pose sitting up.

Today you will see every self appointed Baul calling himself Khyapa (Khepa Baul) there is only one Khepa Baul. Nabani was the only Khepa Baul as he was initiated by Bama Khepa from Tarapith and Rabindranath Tagore gave him that name.

Tagore also, gave Nabani 2 names 'The Mirror of the Sky' and Khepa Baul. In the villages of Bengal Nabani was known as 'Khepa Baul' and they will say Khepa Baul no more.

Nabani is the only Baul who initiated Tagore into Baul and gave him the name Ravi (Robi) Baul.

without your guru ferrying you?

leaving the guru aside you must worship Govinda...

Always remember Baul songs are seeds of higher Philosophy, there are hours

of teaching that go with each song, the songs are simple but they tell a huge story

with each song, meaning upon meaning..

The six tigers are the six inherant vices, undirected desire, anger, greed,

infatuation, vanity, and envy.

The nine vents or doors openings of the body, the nine sense organs,

eyes, ears, nose, mouth, anus, and genitals.

Gosain Radhanath was a relative of Babu's from his lineage.

Krishna Das Gosai also a relative of Babu's, these are characters from his lineage.

This lineage is the first and only Pioneering Lineage to bring Baul out of the village in Birbhum to the World.

Some others were invited to travel with them or followed them, trying to do what they have already done, then Riding on the Coat Tails of this lineage saying they are they are first, they are not, the first Women Baul to travel around the world starting in 1969 was Manju Das before internet.

Copying what Babu Kishan and his family have already done is miseducating the public because many are making astronomical claims that are not true. Yet they are singing the songs of this lineage but adding other peoples names, this is a cultural appropriation. There is a Baul History and Her-story and this story was complete decades ago.

The real Baul is extinct! Babu Kishan has ARCHIVED BAUL decades ago, it has been done, it is complete. This will be presented one by one. This is important because 'Newcomers to BAUL', are watering down, reducing and dumbing down Baul. The speculation on who the Bauls are is mind boggling. Scholars have never got it right, they only speculate or talk to the wrong people. These statements will be qualified one by one.

Babu Kishan has preserved his one and only'Lineage Baul' because he could fore tell the change Baul was even going through back in the 1970's.

No one in this world would know who the Bauls of Bengal are without all the work of this family, this lineage and Babu Kishan. All Bauls follow this lineage, this lineage is ancient and they do not follow anybody.

The new Baul singers, follow this lineage by singing their songs, by dressing as they dress, by following them around the world and by meeting their friends.

Bob Dylan, Allen Ginsberg, Rabindranath Tagore, Osho and many others were only associated with this family and this lineage.

Babu Kishan is the eldest in his generation of Vaishnava Tantric Bauls, he is Nabani Das Khyapa Bauls eldest Grandson and raised by Nabani and Brajabala from Birth til he was 8 years of age, they instilled in him that he preserve his Lineage Baul and this he completed decades ago.
