It has come to our attention that an individual promoting themselves as an authentic Baul representative has been copying, replicating, and disseminating material directly from this blog and the writings of KD Babu Kishanwithout permission or attribution.

Furthermore, we must publicly correct the gross misrepresentation concerning the artist Purna Das Baul.

Purna Das Baul is NOT a Shilpi Baul. The use of the term Shilpi Baul by this promoter to describe Purna Das is inauthentic and opportunistic. This mislabeling betrays a profound lack of understanding of the Baul tradition's philosophical and spiritual foundations.
The Intent: This practice is a calculated attempt to spread misinformation and profit from the authentic cultural legacy of the Bauls while exploiting the work of legitimate indigenous Bauls.

Be warned: We take the unauthorized use of our intellectual property seriously and will pursue all available measures to protect our copyrights and ensure the integrity of the Baul tradition.

With the invention of "Youtube" we are now able to see some Baul singers. Purna Das Baul is a lineage Baul and Pioneer of Bauls who has achieved international success all over the world, thanks in many ways to his son Babu Kishan aka Krishnendu Das Baul, who recorded and produced all of Purna Das Baul music since the 1970's and managed his music career through the 1970's to early 2,000.

Purna Das has many President of India awards, he is a Padma Shri, and was a cultural representative of India for more than 8 decades.

All Baul follow this lineage, right down to the songs they sing, to their dress and follow them around the world, directly visiting their friends??

He is Baul Samarat (King of the Bauls) and the first Indian vocalist to travel outside of India starting in the 1950's. He is almost 90 years old and still very popular in India.

He is the Baul that Bauls aspire to be like, they dress like him, try to sing like him, they followed his father Nabani Das Khyepa Baul, and his sister Radharani Dasi.

His eldest son Babu Kishan aka Krishnendu Das is the first Baul to do Baul fusion music, become a music composer, the first Baul to Tollywood, to Bollywood, to Hollywood in Film and music.

Everyday more Bauls are trying and doing Baul fusion and even singing in some movies.

Just like his grandfather, and father Babukishan aka Krishnendu Das Baul has achieved an unlimited amount of milestones as a Baul.

Babu Kishan is the first and only Baul to live in North America.

He is the first Baul to be a monk in the Ramakrishna order for 12 years, the first Baul to be educated with a BA in Indian Philosophy and MA in Indian Music.

Authentic Bauls spoke oral Sanskrit in the oral tradition with Manuscripts, the real Bauls were way more educated than any western form of education because everything, all Indian Philosophy, all the stories of Krishna and Radha, Ram and Sita and Yoga were remembered by word of mouth.

They are idigenous Bengali, Birbhum Bengali speakers, not Bangladeshi Bengali or Assam Bengali.

Bauls are not tribal but indigenous Vaishnava Tantric Indians from Birbhum Bengali Inaida, living a Vaishnava lifestyle since the beginning of the story going back 5000 years.

Purna Das Baul has received more awards going back to the 1940's than almost anyone in Bengal!

Today anybody can get an award for anything, it was not so easy back in the day.

The real Baul is extinct! Babu Kishan has ARCHIVED BAUL decades ago, it has been done, it is complete. This will be presented one by one. This is important because 'Newcomers to BAUL', are watering down, reducing and dumbing down Baul. The speculation on who the Bauls are is mind boggling. Scholars have never got it right, they only speculate or talk to the wrong people. These statements will be qualified one by one.

Babu Kishan has preserved his one and only'Lineage Baul' because he could fore tell the change Baul was even going through back in the 1970's.

No one in this world would know who the Bauls of Bengal are without all the work of this family, this lineage and Babu Kishan. All Bauls follow this lineage, this lineage is ancient and they do not follow anybody.

The new Baul singers, follow this lineage by singing their songs, by dressing as they dress, by following them around the world and by meeting their friends.
